Reflection on Lesson Plan

Basically, our lesson plan is conducted for 2 periods of classes which is estimately around 80 minutes. We were assigned to do a lesson plan based on a READING skill whereby we decided to apply the procedure upon form 3 students. As a matter of fact, we focused on a reading comprehension of a short narrative entitled "Growing up in Kalapana" by Stuart Baum.

Other than that, our lesson plan is based on several computer online applications such as:

We expected to witness the students' ability in reading the text with phonemic fluency, comprehend the meaning of the individual vocabularies, retell, describe the main events and answer questions with regards to the text. Further, we decided to do some exercises with the students such are tongue twister game, read the text out loud in the class, write down unfamiliar words on Google Translate and Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary which once they had written the words, they can learn the correct pronunciation through the sound that are available with those online applications in order to assist them in getting the right way or pronouncing words as well as present the main events from their reading of the story into a form of chronological drawings or simple sketches according to their creativity. Also, we would give the students a reading comprehension exercise as a homework to be done at home.

However, there were several flaws that we should improve as to gain the best results in this reading skill lesson, they are, we should have find online application that display the story of "Growing up in Kalapana" together with an audio which to assist students in making the right pronunciation. Besides that, we should instruct them to complete the drawing activity as a homework and make the reading comprehension exercise as one of the activities in class. Thus, this new way of teaching would provide a better outcome rather than the initial one.

Throughout the whole progress of completing our task, we could say that, we had grabbed so many things in terms of critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, management and accuracy. This is owing to, best results won't come with littlest effort. We need to pour our hearts and souls on every task that we get. Consequently, the weaknesses are from us yet the virtues are from Allah S.W.T. Hence, we will definitely learn from our mistakes and make it as a lesson.

Sharifah Fatin Athira Bt Syed Uzir is a pure Pahangite, born and bred in Kuantan. She has been fortunate enough to receive Islamic education since her childhood years but due to her weak Iman, she just seem to fully practice what she has learnt. Being a final year student, she cannot yet decide what exactly is she going to do with her life after despite having so many unrealistic plans and dreams. She is into volunteer and humanitarian works, especiallythose involving going into the Orang Asli settlements and also wishes to travel the world while doing that, provided that her mother allows her to.

Have you ever seen a bouquet of roses? Or maybe one single rose? Well actually that has nothing to do with this petite girl name Wardah. It's just her name means rose in Arabic version, yet she's not as blossoming as a rose. Just kidding. She's been studying BENL in IIUM which she chose to major in both Linguistics and Literature. She's young at both heart and age as she is still 23 years old but sort of acting like a typical teenage girl who wants money everyday. She's not a mere active student in terms of sports but she joined few sport activities for the past semesters which at least makes her think that she is a sport's diva. Whatever it is, she's just a girl that demands for high achievement both in here and hereafter.

Yaya is her short name which is nothing can be related to her real name, but when you ask who is Yaya, most of her friends will know her immediately. Given name as Nurul Nabilah Mustaffa and she grew up in Kelantan. She used to love Mathematics back in the days, but now she found new love which is literature. She is majoring in English language and looking forward to carve new steps in her future life with the people that she dearly loved. One word to describe her character is bold. She can be as bold as she can which you could never imagined of. Also, she loves and loves to drive. Sometimes, when times get hard, she will go out and and drive to clear out her minds, not included the places that she has been even when she has to drive alone. Even though she appears to be tough on the outside but deep down in her heart, she is still fragile and easily hurt by harsh words. So be aware!

Her friends called her Fany.  Her real name is Nurfarahani Bt Zubbri, was born and raised in Kedah. She loves studying in IIUM to the extend that she does not want to go home but always missing her hometown. She is majoring in Linguistic because she loves learning about language. Her true self is that she always awkward with everything and a bit clumsy sometimes. She likes photography, online business and hiking  so much but so little time she has now she rarely commits them anymore. She loves foods and listening to music. However, she really found happiness in doing what she loves even if she has to do it alone.
